Xiaoanxia
Koankyo is located in Kurikoma National Park and is a highlight spot where the river creates a sharp gorge. The bottom of the valley can be reached directly by descending a rocky staircase about 60 meters. As you go down, there is a boardwalk that takes you right beside the river. Walking through the canyon among the trees, you will be exposed to many negative ions. There is also Fudo Falls, where the legend of the dragon god remains.
Koankyo hot springs are located right next door.
The hot spring resort is close by, and the promenade is also characterized by the smoke that is billowing out. At a place called Jigokugama, steam is billowing out, creating a truly hellish scene.
On the way back to the hot spring resort, we recommend taking a day trip to the hot spring resort and returning home. Of course, if you stay overnight, you can enjoy the unique cuisine of the valley, such as wild vegetables.

Oga Mayama Folklore Museum
You can see the famous Akita Namahage. In the area where the Oga Mayama Folklore Museum is located, it is a legendary event that is feared because Namahage appear in response to lazy people. The Namahage is usually seen only on New Year's Eve, but at the Oga Mayama Folklore Museum, it can be seen any time of year, making it a popular tourist spot. The Namahage is so powerful that some children start to cry, but Namahage is originally revered as a god. They come in screaming and making loud movements, making the event traumatic and frightening for children, but enjoyable for adults.
You can learn Namahage!
A Namahage Folklore Study Course is also held, which can be visited in conjunction with the Namahage Museum. There is also a demonstration in which Namahage actually answers questions, and at the end of the course, visitors leave with a prayer for good health for the year ahead. Namahage are a common sight in Akita, but people from other prefectures can sometimes be defeated by the power of the Namahage. Hagaeri Valley
It is located in Senboku City, and was named "Hagarari Gorge" because the path is so narrow and steep that people used to cross it while hugging each other as they passed each other.
There are many waterfalls and oddly shaped rocks to see. The most popular spot is the Kaike-no-taki Waterfall, which is so scenic that you will want to keep looking at it. You can also walk across a red bridge called the God's Rock Bridge from the forest. You can enjoy the view of the valley so much that it has been listed in the Michelin Green Guide.

Mt. Cold Wind Mountain
The grass-covered peak of Mt. The revolving observatory is very popular among tourists because the floor rotates exactly 360 degrees in 13 minutes per revolution, allowing visitors to sit and enjoy the view.
There is also a restaurant at the observatory, where you can enjoy meals such as Akita's local cuisine while taking in the view. The area is also a mecca for paragliding, so if the weather is nice, you can watch the paragliders soar overhead. The area is also home to a large number of mountain lilies, and the natural beauty of the scenery is overwhelmingly beautiful.
The starry sky is also beautiful!
The area is famous for its starry sky because there is nothing to block the view and it is pitch black.
On some days, the Milky Way can be seen, and at night, astronomy fans and young people come here. It is a bit remote for night viewing, so it is recommended to go stargazing on a clear night.
