sora studio&gallery

Ceramic art experience you want to try at least once

At a workshop in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, visitors can enjoy making pottery using an electric potter's wheel. The electric potter's wheel spins automatically, so even beginners can skillfully make yunomi (rice cups), teacups, and plates.
We recommend stopping by on your trip to enjoy the view of the Onomichi waterway and the kindness of the potter, Mr. Fujimoto. It is a great way to make memories of your trip.

What you will experience

The experience takes 30 minutes, and you can make any piece you like on an electric potter's wheel. After the work is completed, it is dried and fired, and can be sent by mail if it is difficult to pick up at a later date.

Store Activities

"sora studio&gallery "is a project of popular artist "SEKAI NO OWARI "to support zero killing of animals
"We are participating in Bremen ". We are working to donate a portion of the proceeds from experience sales.
Ceramic artist Yoshifumi Fujimoto creates works inspired by images of the Shimanami landscape, such as sunsets and morning sunrises in the Seto Inland Sea. His pale pastel dishes, Shimanami blue dishes, and the Bubbles Tansai series using bubbles from soap bubbles are popular.

AET

Stylish cafe in Yokogawa

"AET (aet) "is a cafe with a general store attached, located near Yokogawa Station. a number of people have been attracted by the healing space since it opened as a general store in 2014.
The coffee is hand-roasted in house, and its mellow aroma envelops the restaurant. There are many kinds of desserts, and the cheesecake, which changes daily, is especially popular. The cheesecake is moist and rich, and it is exciting to enjoy a different flavor any time of the day. There are also plates of ice cream, chocolate, and a variety of other sweets to enjoy a little at a time.

Our lunch menu includes "hamburger plate ". Unlike just a hamburger steak, it features a hamburger steak in a potage. The contents of the potage changes depending on the season. It is a gentle taste that envelops you in a warm feeling from the core.

Handcrafted Goods

The store is filled with handmade goods that the owner has collected from artisans all over Japan. From plates, cups, flower wreaths, accessories, clothes, and more, the space is filled with the owner's "likes ". Women who like cute sundries will be captivated. Why don't you take your time to look around and find your favorite piece?

Workshops of all kinds

"aet (aet) "offers a variety of monthly workshops, including pottery, baking, and leather classes.
In the leather craft class, you can freely create what you like from a menu of more than 100 items, taking into consideration what you want to make and your skills. The charm of leather accessories is that all items are simple in design, and the more you use them, the more they become more attractive. All the special tools and other equipment are provided, so you can easily participate in the class without any tools. Courses range from a short three-hour course to a full-scale, time-consuming production course.

In the bread class, the type of bread changes monthly, and you can choose one of three types of bread to make. Participants can enjoy the class in a friendly atmosphere, so you may find friends who share your interests!

Ceramic art classes are also held on an irregular basis, where you can make cups, small bowls, tea bowls, cake plates, and other vessels. The pottery is made by hand, not with an electric potter's wheel, so the natural distortion will give it a unique and wonderful flavor. Since the potion used is different from month to month, the color and flavor will be original. The process is completed up to formation, and you will surely be excited when you meet your finished pottery about a month later.
