The island is closely related to the war, and visitors can also learn about peace. The most famous baumkuchen in Japan, Uheim's baumkuchen, was made by German POWs at the Nijima quarantine station. Since this is a learning facility where schools stay overnight, they also have a baumkuchen-making curriculum. This campground can be used free of charge at any time without reservations. For this reason, many people bring only tarps and other items, cook barbecue and outdoor meals, play in the river and forest, and return home on a day trip, making it a campground that can be easily accessed. It is also possible to drive a car into the campground, and some people enjoy connecting their cars. It is very convenient to drive in quickly.

The area is surrounded by trees from which hammocks can be hung, and people stay overnight in hammocks. Toilets and cooking facilities are also provided, making this a comfortable place to camp.

Ninoshima Cycling Course

On Ninoshima Island, there is a bicycle path that circles the island. The distance is approximately 12 km, but it is not easy to go around because of the hills. If you find it easy, it is recommended to continue for two or three more laps. However, there are a number of spectacular viewpoints, and it is recommended to stop and take your time to enjoy the scenery as you ride. This is one of the few remote islands where you can get in touch with the tourist-friendly islanders.

Cycling by ferry!

The only way to get to Ninoshima Island is by ferry, so we take our bicycles on the ferry. I recommend it because it makes you feel like you are on a trip. The ferry ride is only 20 minutes, but the excitement of feeling like you are on a remote island never stops.
The additional ferry fare for bicycles is 160 yen.

mogberry

This is a new strawberry picking facility in Hiroshima City. It is located in the nearest easy-to-get-to location from Hiroshima City and offers all-you-can-eat for 30 minutes. It is a great place for strawberry lovers. Condensed milk is given at the beginning, but if you want to add more condensed milk, it is sold by the piece, so you can keep eating as long as you like.
There are three types of strawberries: Beni Poppe, Yotsuboshi, and Akihime. You can eat fully ripe strawberries only when you go strawberry picking. The sweetest strawberries are the ones that have cracks near the hefty part.

Strawberries that are easy to take while standing, so they can be taken easily.

You can also use the technique of looking for the next strawberry while eating.
