Located just outside Ginkakuji Temple, this restaurant in a renovated old private house serves mainly rice that is milled every morning from rice grown in Keihoku, a village in Kyoto, and cooked in the spring water of Ginkakuji Temple.
The omusubi, which are made to order, have a reputation for being excellent, and it is a great place to buy a choice of omusubi with miso soup or omusubi with one fried dish. The ease with which you can take out or eat in the restaurant is also a plus.
