National Museum of Western Art, Honkan (World Heritage)



It is the only World Heritage Site in central Tokyo and the only Le Corbusier building in Japan.
Le Corbusier was not only an architect, but also a furniture designer, and his designs for sofas and chairs are so famous that everyone has seen them. Since its completion in 1959, the National Museum of Western Art has been loved by many people. Endangered species in the Ogasawara Islands (World Heritage)

Mt. Takao (Japanese Heritage)



Takao, the first mountain in Tokyo to be registered as a Japanese Heritage site. Although it is 599 meters high, it is easily climbed by cable car. It has long been considered a sacred mountain for Shugendo (mountain asceticism), and was also declared a Japan Heritage Site as "Mt. Reiki-Manzan Takao: The Story of Kuwanto Spun by People's Prayers ".
Using the cable or lift, it takes about 45 minutes to reach the summit, and walking up the mountain allows visitors to enjoy the octopus cedars, monkey garden, Yakuoin Temple, and other attractions.

The former Crown Prince's Palace, a national treasure, was built as the residence of the Emperor. It is a palace building and the largest memorial building of the Meiji era in Japan. Jeongboksa Jizo Hall (National Treasure)



Only two buildings in Tokyo have been designated as national treasures: the former imperial palace and the Shofukuji Jizo Hall. The most distinctive feature of this building is its irimoya-style roof, which is curved at the top, and it is a building that clearly shows the characteristics of the Zen sect. The Shofukuji Jizo Hall contains the main statue of Jizo Bosatsu and many smaller statues of Jizo Bosatsu, which are called "Sentai Jizo Sonzan Zo" (Thousand Jizo Statues).
Visits can be made at any time from the outside, and from the inside on August 8, September 24, and November 3, including during the annual Jizo Festival.

Old Kongo Shogunate Command Office (National Designated Important Cultural Property)



The former Konoe Division Headquarters Building, an Important Cultural Property located in Kitanomaru Park, is a gorgeous red brick structure. It survived the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Pacific War, and still stands today as it was when it was built. However, it is scheduled to be moved to Kanazawa in the near future, so if you want to see the exhibits inside, we recommend that you go there as soon as possible. You can see it from the outside at any time, so it is definitely worth a visit when you are in the neighborhood.

Keio (National Designated Important Cultural Property)



Keio University, founded by Yukichi Fukuzawa in the Edo period, is home to the Keio University Library and the Keio University Mita Speech Hall, both of which are nationally important cultural properties, as well as many other historical buildings. The library with its stained glass windows and the Keio University School of Medicine Preventive Medicine Building are among the buildings with atmosphere. Visitors are free to tour the campus at any time, so we recommend that you visit the cafeteria and return home after your tour.
