Echigori-Touge (pass over a mountain pass)

This is the Edaori Pass, where you can see a spectacular view called takigumo, or waterfall clouds, because the clouds fall over the mountain.
It has become a very popular tourist attraction because visitors can drive right up to it, although the road is narrow, rather than having to climb a mountain or struggle up a steep road to see it. It can be seen in the middle of the mountain pass on National Route 352, so it is recommended to go there by car. Please note, however, that the road is closed to traffic from December to May, when snow accumulates. Autumn is the best season to visit because it occurs when there is a great difference in temperature.

The starry sky can even be seen up to the Milky Way!

The night sky is beautiful and popular because there is nothing to block the view. The stars are clearly visible because there is no light, and even the Milky Way is clearly visible on some days.
Nearby is Okutadami Lake, where there are also viewing boats. The water in Okutadami Lake is what makes Takiun visible. After seeing the takigumo, it is recommended to visit Okutadami Lake as well.
