Miyajima/Hiroshima City
The first model course introduced here allows you to visit both Miyajima and the Atomic Bomb Dome, both World Heritage sites in Hiroshima.
Access to Miyajima
There are two ways to get to Miyajima-guchi from Hiroshima Station: JR or streetcar. By streetcar, the journey takes about 70 minutes and costs 260 yen.
anago-meshiue-no Ueno (sushi wrapped in fried egg)
The best place to eat on Miyajima is Anago-meshi at "Anago-meshi Ueno's ". Founded in 1901, it is a long-established restaurant that has been in business for over 100 years. It is located just before the ferry and is popular even on weekdays when there is a long line of people waiting in line. It is also available for take-out, so it is recommended to buy anago meshi and eat it on Miyajima.
We are particular about the ingredients and cook conger eel that has passed through our chef's strict screening process. The fluffy conger eel marinated in the secret sauce that has been passed down for many years is exquisite. The rice is cooked in a broth made from conger eel bones and ara, and the combination of the soy sauce-based rice and the sweetly seasoned conger eel is exquisite.

Worship at the World Heritage Site "Itsukushima Shrine "
"Itsukushima Shrine "was built in 593, and in 1146, Taira no Kiyomori gave the shrine its present temple-style appearance. Along with Matsushima in Miyagi and Amanohashidate in Kyoto, it is known as one of the three most scenic spots in Japan "Miyajima in Aki "and was registered as a World Heritage site in 1996. When you visit Miyajima, be sure to visit the main shrine floating on the sea. The atmosphere changes with the tide and you can see many different faces.

Even on a rainy day! "Miyajima Aquarium "
Sometimes the weather is not so good for sightseeing in Hiroshima. Even on such days, Miyajima has an aquarium for your enjoyment!
More than 13,000 creatures of 350 species can be seen, and both adults and children will get a kick out of it. In the marine animal area, you will find penguins, sea lions, seals, otters, and other aquarium favorites. Sea lion shows are also held, so if you are interested, try to go during the show time.

Return to the city center to "Atomic Bomb Dome "
After returning to the city center from Miyajima by JR or tram, you can start sightseeing at the second World Heritage Site, "Atomic Bomb Dome ". Registered as a World Heritage Site in 1996 as an architectural reminder of the horrors of nuclear weapons, the dome is a symbol of the importance of peace to the world.
Although this place is now a peaceful place, crowded with tourists from all over the world, many people have lost their lives. To be honest, some of you may find it hard to imagine. ""The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum ", located in the same Peace Memorial Park as the Atomic Bomb Dome ", exhibits artifacts left behind by A-bomb survivors, as well as photographs and paintings depicting the horror of the atomic bombing. Visitors can learn about the atomic bombing and peace.

Dinner was okonomiyaki!
Okonomiyaki is a must when you come to Hiroshima! There are many okonomiyaki restaurants in the center of Hiroshima City. If you are having trouble deciding where to go, I recommend "Okonomimura ". It is a building that contains about 25 okonomiyaki restaurants, and all of them cook on the iron plate in front of you.
The okonomiyaki is made right in front of your eyes, giving you a real sense of presence and allowing you to enjoy the waiting time. The hot okonomiyaki is superb, and the drinks go down a treat. We recommend this restaurant because you can enjoy the old-fashioned atmosphere, and all the restaurants are very tasty.

building on a hillside in the precincts of a shrine or temple (esp. a pagoda finial)
"Senkoji Temple "is located on a small mountain north of Onomichi Station, offering a panoramic view of the city of Onomichi, Onomichi Port, Mukojima and other islands. There is a ropeway from the city center to Senkoji Park, which takes about 3 minutes from the base station to the summit station for 500 yen round trip. Of course, you can also walk up the mountain. It is recommended to take the ropeway on the way to the top and walk down while enjoying the atmosphere of Onomichi on the way back.
If you choose to walk, the path is a series of gentle slopes and stairs, and takes about 30 minutes. It is also called "Cat's Narrow Path," and you may encounter cats as you stroll along.
Senko-ji Temple also has a tea ceremony room where visitors can enjoy matcha green tea and Japanese sweets while taking in the spectacular view.

ONOMICHI U2
A five-minute walk from Onomichi Station is a fashionable building on the seaside. It is a complex facility with a hotel, cafes, and select stores, and is popular as a new landmark in Onomichi.
"HOTEL CYCLE "is a perfect hotel for cyclists, as you can check in while riding your bike and there is bike storage in the room. Onomichi is the beginning of the "Shimanami Kaido "that connects Honshu and Shikoku, so many cyclists stay there.
It's a cyclist's dream come true, as there is also a specialty store for the bicycle brand "GIANT ".
Not only is the bakery popular with tourists, but also with locals. "Butti BAKERY "uses natural yeast "Levain variety "and offers a lineup of freshly baked bread. They incorporate many local ingredients, such as bread made with lemons, for which the Setouchi area is famous. It is recommended when you are hungry or as a souvenir.
