Ninja Forest (Nabari City)
Ninja Forest" in Nabari City is a ninja experience spot located at the foot of Akame 48 Waterfalls, known as the place where Iga-style ninja underwent rigorous training.
Here, visitors can experience authentic ninja training using shuriken, blowguns, and athletic equipment.
The training experience is more authentic as visitors wear ninja costumes!
Many people think of ninja in black costumes, but here they are available in a variety of colors, including red, pink, and green.
You can choose matching colors for everyone, or dare to choose different colors to become a colorful ninja squad.
The ninja training experience will last approximately 90 minutes. First, you will learn about the history of the ninja at Enjuin, a ninja temple. Then, after climbing the mountain, the ninja training finally begins!
The students practice ninja spells such as "Rin, Hyou, Toushi, Sha~," and experience climbing, hiding, and walking techniques. All of the training is physically demanding, so by the time we were done, we were exhausted. ...... Wow, ninjas are amazing.
During the summer, in addition to the regular training experience, visitors can also experience the "mizugumo technique" of crossing a river on a ninja tool called mizugumo.
It is said that even adults are likely to fall into the river during this practice, so those who experience the practice in the summer might want to bring a change of clothes.
Once you have completed all the training, you will join the ranks of the ninja! After completing the experience, you will receive a book of Ninja Minna Kaiden.
After that, you are free to enjoy the ninja atmosphere until you return home, playing on the athletic facilities used for training, or strolling around Akame in your ninja costume.
The surrounding area is full of tourist attractions such as the 48 Falls of Akame, the Akame Museum of Natural History, and the Japan Salamander Center.
There are also a number of restaurants where you can enjoy specialty foods such as hekoki manju and beef soup, so you can enjoy sightseeing and strolling at your leisure.

Iga-ryu Ninja Museum (Iga City)
The next museum we will introduce is the "Iga Ninja Museum" located in Ueno Park, Iga City.
It is the only registered museum with a ninja theme and consists of three facilities: Karakuri Ninja House, Ninjutsu Experience Hall, and Ninja Lore Hall.
Here, visitors can watch a demonstration show by active ninja, see tools actually used by the ninja, and have a different ninja experience from the Ninja Forest.
A recommended attraction is the Karakuri Ninja House, a restored ninja dwelling.
This is a building that was moved from a dojo mansion built at the end of the Edo period (1603-1868), and inside is literally equipped with a karakuri to prevent enemies from entering or attacking the building.
At first glance, it looks like an ordinary farmhouse, but once inside, you will be surprised! Various tricks, such as a hidden staircase and a twist of fate, are sure to catch your eyes.
A guiding ninja will demonstrate and guide you through the karakuri, so you can learn about the ninja's home while having fun.
The Ninjutsu Experience Museum displays more than 200 items, including tools actually used by the ninja.
Visitors are sure to be excited by the rarely seen exhibits, ranging from shuriken (shuriken), a typical ninja tool, to nekote (cat's paw) and mizugumo (water spider)! You may enjoy the exhibits even more if you have seen manga or movies featuring ninja beforehand.
The Ninja Lore Museum exhibits materials related to the history and life of the ninja, and visitors can learn more about the ninja here as well.
One of the highlights of the Iga Ninja Museum is the demonstration shows by active ninja.
In the ninja show by "Ashura," the Iga Ninja Special Forces, which is active both in Japan and abroad, visitors can see a performance using actual tools used in those days, such as shuriken, swords, and chain sickles.
You can enjoy the show before visiting the museum, but we recommend that you see the ninja tools at the Ninjutsu Experience Hall before seeing the show to immerse yourself in the world of the ninja even more!
Also, after enjoying the exhibition area and the show, don't miss out on souvenirs. The Ninja Boy souvenir shop offers a wide variety of original goods for ninja lovers, such as rubber shuriken, kakimu, makibishi, and more.
Whether you want to display it at home or actually use it to immerse yourself in the ninja spirit, why not purchase one as a memento of your trip?

Since the sense of equilibrium is so spectacularly disturbed, even simple movements, such as sitting on a tatami mat or standing up straight, are a challenge.
