UFO Line

Located in the Shikoku Karst, which straddles Ehime and Kochi prefectures, the UFO Line is the best spot for a driving date. Starting from Kochi City, it takes only 2 to 3 hours to get there. It runs along a ridge at an elevation of 1,300 to 1,700 meters, making it an excellent scenic drive. In Kochi, it is called the UFO Line (Yuho Line) and is famous as a course leading to the sky. You can see the spectacular view that has recently been used in commercials. Don't worry, there are also spots with spectacular views and stores on the way to this UFO Line. Going on a date to this truly unexplored area will remain in your memories forever.

One of the best mountain roads in Japan!

It is a driving course famous for its ability to drive above the clouds, with nature stretching as far as the eye can see. It is recommended to stop along the way and take your time to enjoy the spectacular scenery together. At night, you can see the sky full of stars, so going to see the stars is also recommended. However, the return trip also takes 2-3 hours, so you need to get there early. There are also hotels where you can stay overnight, so staying overnight is also recommended.

unrolled market

A date at the nationally famous original food stall village, Hirome Market, is also recommended.
The market is a great place to enjoy food from a variety of restaurants, so it can be enjoyed with anyone, whether you want to learn about your partner's food preferences or not, or with someone whose food preferences match or do not match. The nearby Sunday market and Kochi Castle make it a great date spot, and there is no shortage of places to go after visiting Hirome Ichiba.

I recommend Myojinmaru's bonito tataki!

The straw-baked bonito tataki served with salt is exquisite, so be sure to order a plate of it.
Hirome Market offers a wide variety of fresh seafood, but it also has sweets and bakery shops, making it a true foodie paradise. It is a must-visit date spot when you come to Kochi.
We hope you will enjoy Kochi's food no matter when you go or how many times you visit.

Guihama

Katsurahama Beach is the most famous tourist attraction in Kochi. Even if you have been there in the past, it has become a spot that I would recommend again and again. The Pacific Ocean can be seen, and the ocean faces west so that a Daruma sunset can be seen in winter, and we recommend that you and your partner watch the spectacular moment together. I also recommend going up to the Kaizumi Shrine on the cape of Katsurahama to see the Pacific Ocean from above. The shrine is unmanned, but there is a proper torii (gateway to the shrine) and a shrine, so you can make your wishes come true. Please enjoy the beautiful sandy beach, sea and sky.

Katsurahama Beach has a concentration of places of interest.

Katsurahama Beach is not only the sea, but also a concentrated tourist attraction, with an aquarium, a bronze statue of Ryoma Sakamoto, and the Kochi Municipal Ryoma's Birthplace Memorial Museum. The road leading to Katsurahama also runs along the Pacific Ocean, offering spectacular views. Driving along the endless seaside road is also recommended.

Baisan Cave Gate

Hakusan Cave, said to be a power spot for love fulfillment, is a heart-shaped cave with a sea goddess visible above it.
This cave is a granite sea cave, a naturally formed spot.
If you want to see it up close, you will have to go down a boardwalk or stairs to see it, and sneakers are recommended as you will be walking on the rocks. Also, the footing is not good, so we recommend wearing pants.
If you go on a date to a power spot for romance, your wish may come true more and more.

Hakusan Cave Gate from the footbath with a view!

You can see Hakusan Cave Gate while soaking in a footbath with a view called Manjiro Footbath.
The footbath is free of charge and uses Ashizuri hot spring water, so you can warm yourself from the core. There are also footbaths that can be used by two people, such as couples' seats, so please be sure to take advantage of them.

Dragon String Coast

It is a coast with a series of strange and beautiful rock formations that are hard to see even in Japan.
It is located 2.5 hours by car from Kochi City. It is a recommended date course, as the spot has many sights to see, including a rock face called the beehive structure and the Otake Kotake. The Ashizuri Seabed Pavilion is also nearby, where you can see fish swimming naturally from under the sea.
Glass boats are also available, and the view from the glass boats is spectacular.

Strata created by nature

You can see in front of you a natural geological formation formed by layers of sandstone and mudstone that have been overlaid by continuous wave and wind erosion.
There are many highlights, and each is named after a different image, such as Shiborimakuten, Ranma-ishi, Sento-frog, Sentojiki, etc., so please be sure to see them all.
Sneakers are recommended here as well, as the footing is poor.

Serpula lacrymans (species of dry rot fungus)

Located on the Niyodo River in Ino-cho, this waterfall basin is famous for its Niyodo blue color.
You can see the beautiful Niyodo blue any time of the year, as the color changes with the sunlight. Only those who are physically fit should go down the steep stairs to Niko-fuchi. The area is sacred and home to a giant snake, which is believed to be an incarnation of the water god, so be sure to view the scenery in silence. The scenery is beautiful and makes for a memorable date course.

You will get both negative ions and power!

The fact that it is a waterfall in the middle of a forest also gives you plenty of negative ions, but it is also famous as a power spot, so just going to see it will give you energy. Just by going to see it together, you will feel a sense of sacredness. It is said that the best time to see the Niyodo blue is around noon.

beach at the end of a beach that has been abandoned

It is called "Mimizushi Kaigan" as the landscape left unseen by Kukai.
Like the Ryukushi Coast, it is a series of sea-eroded plateaus that can be crossed by glass boat. It is said that Kukai left this beach behind at that time because it was difficult to cross it on foot in his time.
It is a spot with many strange rock attractions such as Whirlpool Rock, Affection Rock, and Mermaid's Palace. Also, the Shikoro coral colony on the Miharashi Coast is one of the largest coral colonies in Japan. It can be seen from a glass boat, so be sure to cross over to the Miharashi Coast.

If you come to the Ryukushi Coast, be sure to visit!

It is said that one-fifth of the tourists on the Ryukushi Coast leave without seeing this leftover beach, but the leftover beach is also famous for its wonderful scenery.
This is a recommended date course that takes you into a more in-depth look at a classic date spot for an unforgettable experience.
