A-bomb Dome

Jishui Garden



Yoshinagaen Garden, where you can see the moreioli frogs, was built in the mid-Edo period and is only open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays in the spring and fall. Visitors may enter only four days in the spring and four days in the fall.

The Treasure House of the Taya Shrine



It is a historical building that was originally located at Hiroshima Castle, but was moved to this location in the early Edo period. It is one of the few buildings in Japan built in the kurazukuri style, and a large portable shrine is housed inside.

Former Bank of Japan, Hiroshima Branch



The building was exposed to the atomic bomb at 380 meters, not far from the hypocenter.
At the time of the bombing, the third floor was completely destroyed by fire, although not much damage was done because the armor doors were closed. Immediately after the atomic bomb fell, the building was used as a camp for the injured, and the next day it was used as a historical building where people could withdraw money, which is said to have supported the reconstruction of Hiroshima.

This facility, the site of the former Naval Academy, which is now the Maritime Self-Defense Force's Officer Candidate School and 1st Technical School, was built in 1893.
Inside, suicide notes of Kamikaze Kamikaze pilots and other items are on display, which is very heartwarming.
Japan's largest shipboard gun is also open for tours on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.

Jodoji Multipurpose Pagoda



The pagoda is one of the three most famous pagodas in Japan, the Jodoji Taho-to. It was built in 1328 during the Kamakura period (1185-1333).

Old Wazumi Family Residence



This building, commonly called "Onomichi Gaudi House," was built at the end of the Taisho period (1912-1926). It is one of a series of pseudo-Western-style buildings on the slope behind Onomichi Station that were popular at the time.

It has been vacant for 25 years and has been rehabilitated as a symbol of revitalization of a vacant house. It is available for rental space and short-term stays.
