Hakata Port Tower

Fukuoka Tower

At 234 meters in length, Fukuoka Tower is the tallest seaside tower in Japan.

Shiga Island Area

A national park located in Nishi-Tozaki, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, "Uminonakamichi Seaside Park ".

Shikanoshima

Mojiko Area

Mojiko Port Retro

The area with a retro atmosphere is "Mojiko Retro ".
Moji Port developed as a hub of international trade from the Meiji Era to the Showa Era and was one of the three major ports in Japan "along with Yokohama and Kobe ". The brick buildings and other structures built at that time still remain and have become a popular tourist destination.

There are many attractions such as the famous grilled curry, fugu restaurants, a museum, a spot overlooking the Kanmon Straits, and souvenir shops. The romantic scene at night is perfect for a date.

Mojiko Station

Until the opening of the Kanmon Tunnel, Mojiko Station was crowded with people as the gateway to Kyushu's railroad system and as a relay station for the Kanmon ferry connecting Shimonoseki on the opposite shore. "Mojiko Station "

The current station building is a restored neo-renaissance style station building that opened in 1914 as Moji Station, and just had its grand opening in March 2019.

Former Moji Customs

The red brick "former Moji Customs "was built in 1909 (Meiji 45), following the inauguration of Moji Customs in 1909 (Meiji 42). It was used as a customs building until the early Showa period.

Inside the museum, there are exhibits on customs operations, a fruit parlor, a rest room, and an observation room on the third floor overlooking the Kanmon Straits.

Incidentally, it was Asako Hirooka, the model for Asa in the NHK morning drama "Asa came "that aired from 2015 to 2016, that triggered the establishment of a customs office in Moji.

Kyushu Railway Museum

Located next to Mojiko Station, "Kyushu Railway Memorial Museum "is an exhibition facility that traces the history of Kyushu's railroad lines.
