Arashiyama Yugetsu

Located not far from Watarizuki Bridge in Arashiyama, "Arashiyama Yugetsu "is a Kyoto-style restaurant that has been in business for over 90 years. The restaurant has been in business for more than 90 years. In the garden of the tatami room, there is a 95-year-old plum tree, and you can comfortably listen to the murmuring of the Katsura River while admiring the elegant scenery. Kyoto cuisine may seem intimidating, but at "Arashiyama Yougetsu ", you can enjoy authentic Kyoto cuisine at a relatively reasonable price.

A variety of Kyoto cuisine to suit your taste

"Kyo-ryori "is prepared using traditional Kyoto vegetables and tofu made from rich soft groundwater "and soup stock "in a traditional way. The beautiful presentation and serving of the dishes are also characterized by the "spirit of hospitality "that can be felt everywhere. The vegetarian course using yuba (bean curd) and tofu here features the flavorful and exquisite tofu from "Morika ", a long-established tofu store in Saga. It is nice to be able to enjoy different flavors depending on the season: cold tofu in summer and yudofu in spring, fall, and winter. We also recommend the mini kaiseki course, which features seasonal Kyoto vegetables such as locally grown Kamo eggplant dengaku.

Other dishes include "Japanese Beef Shabu Shabu Shabu ", which features Kyoto beef with a high quality flavor, and homemade ponzu vinegar to give you a rich aroma and taste of the ingredients. The summer-only Awaji Island specialty "Hamo Shabu Shabu course "is served in a light broth made from the bones of the hamo (Japanese conger eel). The course meals are all exquisite and show the hospitality of our chefs. Enjoy Kyoto cuisine with fresh seasonal vegetables and the finest ingredients while feeling the natural beauty of Arashiyama.

The restaurant's signature menu is "Gyogati Gozen ", which includes 12 kinds of obanzai seasoned with seasonal vegetables purchased from local contract farmers and carefully prepared seasonal seafood, red rice, and miso soup. It is surprising that everything is handmade, including the famous saikyo pickles and desserts. The colorful bowls are designed so that when you lift them up, you can see the menu, and you can't help but smile every time you bring one of the elegantly presented dishes to your mouth.

The obanzai menu is designed to reflect the seasons, with the summer set meal featuring chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) and takikomiai (steamed rice cooked with vegetables) that are cooler and have more of a broth flavor.
