Takeda Castle Ruins

The first is "Takeda Castle Ruins ", which became a hot topic on SNS for looking like something out of "Castle in the Sky ". Originally, it attracted attention because of its rarity as an untouched castle ruin, but it has become one of the most spectacular spots in Hyogo Prefecture because of the sea of clouds that can be seen in the fall. The area tends to be crowded in autumn when there is a chance to see the sea of clouds, so please allow plenty of time for your visit.

Ruins of Takeda Castle through cherry blossoms in

The time of day when you can enter Takeda Castle Ruins varies with the season, and the scenery you can see changes considerably. It is recommended to visit any time of the year to see a new spectacular view: cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, sea of clouds in autumn, and snowy landscape in winter. However, since the ruins of Takeda Castle are located at the top of Kojo Mountain (354 meters high), it is a 20-30 minute walk up from the parking lot. It is recommended that visitors wear comfortable clothing.

Ruins of Takeda Castle dyed with snow in winter

In winter, the ruins of Takeda Castle are covered in snow. The sunlight shining on the snow falling on the ruins of Takeda Castle makes you feel as if you are in a northern country. It is also a great spot for taking pictures, so it is a perfect place to go out with friends.

Nunobiki Waterfall

The next superb view spot is "Fubiki no Taki Waterfall ". This is a 10-minute walk from Shin-Kobe Station, making it a superb spot with easy access from the center of the city. Nunobikinotaki Falls is one of the three most famous waterfalls in Japan, and is a recommended spot for those who want to relax and enjoy the negative ions from the waterfall and forest bathing.

Nunobiki-no-Taki Waterfall has four waterfalls

Nunobikino-taki Falls is made up of four waterfalls: "Otaki ", "Nyetaki ", "Husband and Wife ", "Kogataki ", all of which have completely different flows. "Otodaki "is a waterfall that flows boldly from a height of over 40 meters, crashing against rocks; "Otogitaki "is a waterfall that falls into a basin in a broad, soft line; "Husubutaki "is two waterfalls that merge into one and fall; "Kogataki "is a waterfall that slides down along uneven rock formations. Each of these waterfalls has its own unique characteristics, and all four are located within walking distance of each other, so be sure to compare them. If you are confident in your stamina, there are hiking trails around the area, and you can walk to the observatory where you can see the view of Kobe for an even more spectacular view.

Akashi Channel Bridge

Next, I would like to introduce "Akashi Kaikyo Bridge ", a bridge connecting Kobe to Awaji Island. The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is known as the longest suspension bridge in the world, stretching about 4 km. Just looking at the magnificent bridge floating on the sea bathed in the sunrise and sunset is a refreshing experience.

Famous as a night view spot

The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, however, is at its most beautiful when it is illuminated after sunset. The lights are designed differently depending on the time of year, and visitors can enjoy a fantastic view as they cross the bridge. Also, from the road along the sea, you can see the collaboration of the bridge floating in the darkness and the sea surface reflected by the lights. This makes it ideal for nighttime driving.

Looking into the sea from the bridge

If you want to enjoy the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge during lunchtime, the Maiko Marine Promenade is also recommended. The promenade is built on a promontory protruding from the Akashi Kaikyo Strait, and you can experience the bridge as if you were peering into the sea from above. There is also a café where you can enjoy local delicacies of Akashi, so it is a good place to stop by for a bite to eat.

Anguoji Temple

Next, I would like to introduce a spot in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the autumn leaves "Ankokuji Temple ". The slopes in the backyard of Ankokuji Temple are covered with 100-year-old "dodan-tsutsuji "trees, all of which turn red in November, the season of autumn leaves.

Picturesque view from the tatami room

The most beautiful view of these autumn leaves can be seen from the tatami room of Ankokuji Temple. When you hold your camera from the tatami room side, the autumn leaves fill the frame of the tatami room side, giving you a magnificent view, just like a painting. Sitting in the tatami room and looking at the view of the autumn foliage that fills the entire picture angle, you can relax from the fatigue of everyday life. However, you will only be able to see these beautiful autumn leaves for two weeks during the November foliage season. Every year, as the foliage season approaches, the website announces the period during which you can view the temple, so be sure to check the website and visit during the season when you can view the temple from the seating area. The temple has recently become famous on social networking sites and is expected to be crowded, so we recommend that you allow plenty of time for your visit.

Bai Hao Temple

Next, I would like to introduce a temple in Tamba City where you can enjoy the spectacular views of the four seasons: "Byakko-ji Temple ". Since Shirahao-ji Temple is located in Tamba's Yamai area, visitors can enjoy abundant nature on the way to the temple. No matter what time of year you visit, you can enjoy the seasonal flowers in full bloom, so you can come into contact with nature regardless of the season.

The main spectacular view is a wisteria trellis

The most famous and spectacular view at "Baihoji "is the wisteria trellis with "nine-foot wisteria "in full bloom from early to mid-May. When you go under the wisteria trellis and look up, you can see the sunlight shining through the gaps between the wisteria in full bloom, creating a fantastic view. The purple color of the wisteria flowers looks beautiful against the surrounding greenery, making it a great place to take pictures from any angle. However, many people visit "Baihao-ji Temple "by car, and during the wisteria trellis viewing season, the parking lot tends to be full and there are often traffic jams, so it is recommended that you start early.

Autumn is filled with autumn leaves.

Furthermore, the autumn season is also a good time to visit this Baihoji temple. After passing through the temple gate, you will see a bridge over a pond. Around the pond are many red leaves, and the reflection of the leaves on the pond is fantastic. The precincts of the temple are also overgrown with red autumn leaves, and the temple is covered in autumn colors.

Moye Mountain

Finally, here is a spot where you can enjoy the view of Kobe. That is "Mt. Maya ". Mt. Maya is an easily accessible scenic spot close to Kobe. Maya is not so high (702 meters above sea level), but it is located 8 km from the coast, and from its observation deck, you can see not only the whole of Kobe, but also the ocean.

At night, be enchanted by Japan's three most beautiful nightscapes.

Maya is famous for its night view. The night view from Mt. Maya has been selected as one of the three best night views in Japan, along with that from Mount Hakodate in Hokkaido and Mount Inasa in Nagasaki Prefecture. At night, the view from the Kobe area to the Osaka area turns various colors, and together with the view of the factory nightscape by the sea, it offers a wonderful night view. During the day, you can take the cable car up the mountain, but we encourage you to take a drive and enjoy a relaxing time.
