Fear Hill Reikyo

Osorezan, perhaps the most famous of the three sacred mountains of Japan, is also located in Aomori Prefecture.
Mount Osorezan is a volcano that emits the smell of sulfur. Osorezan is more famous for its itako, or stone warriors. It is said to call the spirits of the dead to its mouth, and it is also famous for the practice of itako (itako).
Today, the number of people who become itako is decreasing and they are very rare in Japan. Osorezan is home to the Osorezan Bodai-ji Temple, which holds a grand festival twice a year, a popular festival where visitors can experience the mouth-to-mouth interaction of an itako.

There are also hot springs within the sacred site!

There are four hot springs that visitors to Osorezan Bodaiji can freely enter. In addition, the spring water on the Osorezan Highway is a popular spot because "it is said that if you drink one cup you will be young for 10 years, if you drink two cups you will be young for 20 years, and if you drink three cups you will be young until you die. "
Itako is not stationed at the temple, but performs Kuchiyose in a tent called Itakomachi during the Grand Festival. If you are interested, it is recommended to go to the Grand Festival and ask Itako to visit you.

The lake is so clear and beautiful that you can clearly see rotting trees sinking into the lake. The reason why the lake appears cobalt blue in spite of its high transparency is still unknown, making it a truly fantastic lake. If you go to see it in the morning on a clear day, you can see the cobalt blue color more clearly, so if you are interested, it is recommended to go there at that time.

Today, it is rare to see actual pit houses and village ruins, but the Sannai-Maruyama Site is a valuable spot where visitors can see the remains of settlements on the same scale as during the Jomon Period.
It is also because of the Sannai-Maruyama Site that visitors can enter a pit dwelling from the Jomon period. Buddhist pilgrim (carrying 66 copies of the Lotus Sutra to be left at sites across Japan)

It is said that the name "Butsugaura" came from the fact that the oddly shaped rocks look like Buddha, and it is a sightseeing spot with a superb view of a series of oddly shaped rocks. It is a little far from Aomori city and difficult to reach, but a sightseeing boat is available from Butsugaura, and the spectacular view can be seen from the sea side.
The clear emerald green color of the ocean and the white color of the strange rock formations are a perfect match, and this is where you can encounter the spectacular view created by Mother Nature.

A Ferris wheel is recommended.

Please take a look at the 2-kilometer stretch of paradise-like scenery from the sea. The boat ride takes about 40 minutes and is full of surprises. The boat also stops at spectacular spots, so you can take your time and enjoy the spectacular scenery at a very reasonable price.
Designated as a national natural monument, the rocks have names such as Nyorai-no-kubi, Five Hundred Arhats, Ittsubutsu Buddha, Byobu Iwa, Tenryu Iwa, Lotus Iwa, Soukeimon, Hagake Iwa, and Gokuraku Hama, and each one has its own name and story.
