Katsuoji Temple
Katsuo-ji Temple, famous for its winning Bodhidharma dolls, has a 1,300-year long history. It is renowned as the temple that blesses worshippers with victory in all aspects of life, including exams, sports, business, elections, artistic endeavors, or even healing and recuperation. In April, the temple blooms with many kinds of cherry blossoms, including weeping cherry trees, yaezakura (Prunus glandulosa), yamazakura (Prunus mume), but also quite rare varieties such as yellow cherry blossoms. Since cherry blossoms at the temple bloom later than the more common varieties in most places, you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing even after the pear of the season has already passed elsewhere.

Hiking and cherry blossoms
The hiking course leading to "Minoh Falls," is famous for its beautiful autumn foliage, however the trail is just as breathtaking in spring when the mountain cherry trees are in full bloom, creating a very beautiful scene with the lush green mountains. If you seek to refresh both your body and mind, this mild hiking course is our top recommendation. There are also many interesting and charming shrines and temples along the trail, offering a chance to visit many hidden spots without the hassle of the crowds.
Nothing beats a relaxing foot spa after a bit of hiking.
