Kitagawa Village "Monet's Garden "Marmottan

You can enjoy a wonderful garden in Kitagawa Village. "Monet's Garden "is a reproduction of the beautiful garden that the Impressionist master Claude Monet, also known as "the Painter of Light ", created himself in Giverny in northern France, where he loved and moved. Monet's home garden is also known as the birthplace of the famous "water lilies ". Monet collected rare plants from around the world to create his ideal garden, which he cared for his entire life. With the cooperation of the Claude Monet Foundation, visitors to Kitagawa Village can now appreciate an authentic Monet garden.

The park has three gardens, "Garden of Flowers "with colorful flowers like the artist's palette, "Garden of Water "with water lilies that produced many masterpieces, and "Garden of Bordighera "created on the theme of Monet's works, including the mountains and sea in Kochi Prefecture, each with different charm.

If you are enchanted by the lovely Monet's Garden, you can also buy carefully nurtured seasonal flowers, plants, and mixtures as souvenirs at the direct sales shop at "Flower House ". These stylish plants, which can only be purchased here, would make a great gift for someone.

Cafe "Monet's House "

The park also has a cafe "Monet's House "where you can enjoy lunch and sweets while enjoying the garden, and depending on the season, you may be able to enjoy cakes accented with Kochi's famous citrus fruits, a limited edition. Makino Botanical Garden, Kochi

"Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden ", located on Mount Godaisan in Kochi City, was created to honor the work of Dr. Tomitaro Makino, "also known as the father of Japanese plant taxonomy ". It is the only botanical garden in Shikoku where a natural ecosystem has been established and the plants are carefully managed while making the most of the natural beauty of Mount Godaisan. Visitors can enjoy more than 3,000 varieties of plants, including wild plants based on Dr. Makino's great achievements.

"Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden "is famous for its stylish museum exterior and its fusion of art and plants. Instead of the standard botanical garden style that is often seen, the building and space are skillfully used to make the plants more beautiful and to allow visitors to view them from unexpected angles.

Among them, the 9-meter-high "Green Tower "was designed to resemble a large tree in a cave, allowing visitors to admire the lush vegetation while looking up at the sky through the atrium.

Every year, "Cherry Blossom Evening "is held during the cherry blossom season, when you can enjoy the fantastically illuminated cherry blossoms, and during the orchid season, you can walk around among orchids that bloom taller than your height on both sides, and other events are prepared to allow you to appreciate flowers in their most beautiful state according to the season.

Picnic at the Botanical Garden

The park's restaurant "Albul "sells boxed lunches filled with sumptuous foods for picnics in the park, depending on the season. You can enjoy eating a bento box lunch with a variety of items, such as sweet potato stewed in safflower and grilled young chicken with yuan-yaki (herring roe), in the lush greenery and beautiful sunlight at the park's "Konzan Plaza "and other eating and drinking spaces.

English Garden House

"English Garden House "is a spot where you can admire a garden full of roses and herbs in bloom, and since it was originally a mandarin orange farm, you can also taste a wide variety of Kochi citrus fruits such as seven types of mandarins and pomelos from the farm. This is a popular place for SNS girls to feel like a princess and also enjoy lace flowers and colorful roses.

"The garden at the English Garden House "was created by the owner over a long period of time by painstakingly laying out stones and bricks one by one, and is so well finished that it attracts media coverage during the rose season. The Western-style building fits perfectly with the elegant garden, where you can enjoy lunch or tea time.

In addition to citrus fruits such as greenhouse oranges and konatsu, visitors can purchase blueberries and other seasonal fruits throughout the year. There are also jams and dried fruits made from fruits carefully grown in their own vegetable garden that can be bought as souvenirs. Candle night is sometimes held at night, and visitors can admire the beautiful flowers illuminated by warm lights.

Suihin Buntan and Konatsu juices and sweets

You can spend your tea time or lunch time on the terrace where the fragrance of flowers wafts softly. In addition to juices made from freshly picked citrus fruits such as Mizuhin Buntan, you can also enjoy fruit tea, flower tea, and herb tea.
