The vast grounds are grazed by 50 to 60 reindeer, and visitors can take their time to see the cute reindeer. Visitors can also feed the reindeer and get up close and personal with them.

By the way, "reindeer "comes from the Ainu word "tunakai ". In the past, the Ainu people also lived in Sakhalin, and reindeer inhabited Sakhalin. During the Edo period (1603-1867), Rinzo Mamiya learned of the existence and name of reindeer when he explored Sakhalin, and it is said that the name spread to Japan.

Abundance Hot Spring (Abundance Town)

Japan's northernmost hot spring resort "Toyotomi Onsen ". Although not generally known to the public, it is a famous hot spring that has been selected as one of the 100 best hot springs in Japan and is quite famous among hot spring enthusiasts. It is said to be effective for atopic dermatitis, and has become a hot spring resort where visitors from all over Japan come for a hot spring cure and stay for an extended period of time.

Abundance hot springs are characterized by their oil content, which is said to be found only here in Japan and in Azerbaijan, the only other hot spring resort in the world. Because of its rarity, it is also referred to as "miraculous hot water ". The color is muddy yellow and the water is slightly oily because it gushes out from a well along with oil and natural gas.

Upon entering the bathhouse, one can smell the scent of petroleum. The water is oily and shiny, unlike other hot springs. The water is so thick with oil that when you get out of the water and sit on the bath chair, your buttocks feel slippery.

Since this is one of only two very precious hot springs in the world, we hope you will stop by and experience this oil bath on your way to the touring sites!

Sarobetsu Wild Flower Garden (Toyotomi Town)

The second largest marshland area in Japan after Kushiro Marsh "Sarobetsu Marsh "is located on the Toyotomi Town side "Sarobetsu Primeval Flower Garden ". From May to September, more than 100 varieties of seasonal flowers are in full bloom.

Especially beautiful is the "Ezo kanzo "that blooms from mid-June to mid-July. A member of the lily family with orange petals, the contrast between the green marshes and the orange flowers is very beautiful.

On a clear day, Rishiri Fuji, the famous mountain that Rishiri Island is proud of, can be seen beautifully far behind the Sarobetsu Marsh, and you will be faced with a spectacular view of the marsh, flowers, and Rishiri Fuji.

Landscape of rolling grass rolls (Abundance Town)

Toyofuji is a dairy farming town that produces milk used in the dairy products of "Sequoma ", a convenience store beloved by Hokkaido residents.

The area boasts an expansive area of about 320 times the size of the Tokyo Dome ", including the Toyotomi Town Large Grassland Ranch ". "This is Hokkaido! "The spacious pastureland is dotted with cows and grass rolls.

Its pastoral atmosphere and hilly, up-and-down road are said to resemble that of Europe. The endless pastures, meadows, and cows are one of the highlights of the Oloron Line, and cannot be seen anywhere else in Japan.

Bwatai cafeteria (Wakkanai City)

This seafood diner is located in Wakkanai City, the terminus of the Oloron Line. It is a popular diner that attracts not only touring riders but also customers from all over Japan.

Their specialty is a variety of "urchin donburi ". The sign outside the restaurant says "and the name of the restaurant is ", which is a big sign, but to my surprise, the taste and volume are truly unbeatable.

I don't like the smell of sea urchin from the sea and usually can't eat it at all, but the sea urchin at "Kabata Shokudo "is the only sea urchin in my life that I found "sweet and delicious ". Of course, it is not marinated in alum, so it is thick and fresh, so it does not smell fishy at all, just extremely sweet.

The sea urchin is not cheap because it is loaded with sea urchin, but it is still cheaper than sea urchin in other parts of Hokkaido, and it is rare to find such a delicious sea urchin.

Try it for a memorable ending to your touring!
