Sunflower field in Lake Niu Niu Stubborn Father's Sunflower Field (Niu-ko no Himawari-batake)

This is a large sunflower field located in an area called Niujiku in Tomioka City.
"About 110,000 sunflowers bloom on a small hill named Niu no Oka ".
The sight of yellow flowers as far as the eye can see, harmonized with the natural beauty of Mt. Myogi and Lake Tansei, is enough to make you say "wow ".
On a fine day, the blue sky is also a nice accent.
There is a small observation deck on the grounds, so it is recommended to climb up to admire the sunflower fields from above.

If you have a little time, be sure to see the sunflower fields at dusk.
When the sun sets over Mt. Myogi, the orange sunset illuminates the sunflowers, making them very beautiful.
This spectacle can also be enjoyed only on fine days, so be sure to check the weather forecast before you go.
By the way, the road from the parking lot to the field is not paved.
There are no paved paths in the fields either, so please head there with shoes that are comfortable to walk on and can get dirty (sandals are not recommended).

Tanbara Lavender Park

Lavender fields are located 1,300 meters above sea level in Numata City.
It is one of the largest in the Kanto region, with a whopping 50,000 plants.
The sight of blue-and-murasaki-colored flowers blooming all over the area is truly a sight to behold.
It is guaranteed to be a sight to behold, even if you are not a flower lover.
There is also a large viewing platform in the field that offers a panoramic view of the lavender, so why not climb it?
In addition to lavender, many other plants are grown in the park.
Enjoy the greenery by viewing beautiful summer flowers such as about 30 varieties of herbs, sunflowers, and hydrangeas with impressive white petals, and take a rest in the shade of a beech tree.

I recommend taking the "summer mountain lift ", which takes about 10 minutes each way, and enjoy the low altitude.
The lifts are usually set high for skiers, but during the lavender season they are operated lower, so you will feel less scared.
There is also a trampoline, bouldering, and other equipment for physical exercise, making it a great place for families to play together.
This spot offers a wide range of facilities, including a dog run with separate areas for small and large dogs.
The accessibility of the area, which is only about two hours from Tokyo, is another point to check.

Lavender at its best

It is usually at its best from early July to August.
Around mid-July, lavender picking is also offered, so those who want to enjoy the flowers at home should check it out.

Let's eat at Lavender Park

What I recommend here is the soft-serve ice cream.
Among them, "Lavender Soft "is the most popular.
The beautiful purple color is as cool to the eye as a field of flowers.
When you take a bite, a gentle floral aroma spreads in your mouth.
Lavender soba and lavender ramen noodles are also quite photogenic.
It will be a good souvenir story.

After admiring the flower fields at Tanbara Lavender Park, how about spending a relaxing time at a roadside station?
Located 19 kilometers away, a 35-minute drive, "Kawaba Rural Plaza "is a fairly large roadside station in the prefecture.
Fresh local produce sold at the direct sales corner, rice balls made from Kawaba rice, baked bread, konjac sweets, fresh pasta, pizza, and many other delicious items.
In particular, the Meat Kobo's offering of "bandits yaki "is one of the most popular items on the menu and is ordered by many of the visitors.

Located on a small hillside in Annaka City, this is a spot where, as the name suggests, the German iris flower blooms.
The number of iris planted on the vast 3-hectare site is truly enormous: 100,000 plants of 1,000 varieties.
When these bloom all at once in season, they are as beautiful as in a fantasy world.
In addition to iris, other flowers such as hemerocallis (200,000 plants of 1,500 species), dahlias (4,000 plants of 500 species), and lupines (20,000 plants) are cultivated here, which bloom in a relay-like fashion from summer to late fall.
Although the iris season comes to an end early in the summer, from May to early June, it is nice to be able to enjoy a variety of flowers even after that time.

Tatebayashi City Tsutsujigaoka Park

Tatebayashi City is known for the old tale of the tanuki baking in a tea kettle "Bunbuku Chagama ".
Tsutsujigaoka Park is a large park located in the city of Tatebayashi.
As you can see from the name, this place is famous for azaleas.
Although azaleas themselves come to an end around May, this is actually a famous place for "hana-hasu" (lotus blossoms).
The cultivation of lotus (lotus root) has been tried for several decades and has been widely established.
The origin of the flower is said to be the white and pink flowers that bloom in summer.
The appearance of large, large flowers on the surface of the lake is truly a flower garden on the water.
From mid-July to early August, when it is at its best, "Summer Jonuma Lotus Festival "will be held.

The sightseeing boat ride through the lotus blossoms is a pleasure that can only be enjoyed during this season.
The beautiful scenery up close is a sight to behold.
The park also has a trendy eatery called "Sugar Hill Cafe ".
Try the hearty burgers and other tasty items.

The best time to see lotus flowers

It will be at its best from mid to late July.
The Hana-Hasu Festival is held until mid-August, but there is a possibility that it may be a little later when the flowers actually bloom.
