Ebisu Bridge is a 26-meter-long bridge spanning the Dotonbori River, which flows through the heart of downtown Minami, Osaka. The opening of the Dotonbori River began when Doton Yasui thought that a river moat was necessary for development south of Osaka Castle, and in 1612, permission was granted by Toyotomi to begin construction, which was completed in 1615 after about three years, connecting the Toyokobori River and the Kizu River by a canal. Once the canal was completed, theaters were built one after another on its southern bank, and the area developed as a center for kabuki, ningyo joruri (puppet theater), and other theatrical and performing arts. The five theaters, Naniwaza, Naka-za, Kaku-za, Asahi-za, and Benten-za, were widely known as "Dotonbori Goza ".

It is estimated that Ebisu Bridge was built shortly after the opening of the Dotonbori River. The bridge appears to have been maintained by the townspeople of the surrounding area. Records show that the bridge was repaired and replaced 13 times from 1694, during the Genroku period of the Edo period, until it was replaced by an iron bridge in 1878.

The current bridge was built in 2007. The plaza on the bridge is based on a circular shape, giving it a theatrical feel. The slope along the plaza was designed so that visitors can enjoy a peaceful view while descending to the water's edge. The northern end of the bridge is the southern end of Shinsaibashi-suji Street, where the Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Arcade extends to Nagahori-dori Street, and the southern end of the bridge is the northern end of Ebisubashi Suji Street, where the Ebisubashi Suji Shopping Arcade extends to Namba Station, attracting many people day and night.

People are constantly taking pictures in front of the billboard, posing with their hands spread high in the air.

The runner depicted on the Glico sign is the logo of the confectionery manufacturer Ezaki Glico, "called the finish line mark ". It is also introduced overseas as "Glico Man" or "Glico Running Man.

The first Glico sign was installed in 1935. The 33 meter high billboard was centered around the giant "Glico "letters, with the runner logo designed above the letters. The runner and logo seemed to be decorated with a floral pattern that changed to six different colors and blinked repeatedly 19 times per minute. Since then, the colors have been repeatedly changed and the current Glico sign was renewed on October 23, 2014 as the sixth generation. "The goal mark "rises against the blue background. About 140,000 LEDs are used to illuminate the sign.
