soba noodles sold in the Ryukyu Kingdom
Located near Shuri Castle, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Okinawa Prefecture, this Okinawa soba restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m., but there is often a long line of customers at opening time. Free parking for six cars is available in front of the restaurant, and there is also a pay parking lot behind the restaurant that charges 300 yen per use.
Prepared early in the morning, "Shuri Soba "noodles are characterized by their firmness. They are made from unbleached wheat flour, hand-pulled using traditional methods, and kneaded under firm pressure for two hours. The soup is clear and has a simple, elegant flavor made from pork, dried bonito flakes, and Okinawan salt. The noodles are chewy and tough, and the broth is mixed with the toppings of three slices of meat. The three-veined meat is fatty and tender, and is made from Okinawan pork stewed in awamori. It seems that there are many fans of this tripe.
On the table, there is "kohlrakegusu ", a seasoning made from island chili peppers soaked in awamori, which is a great way to change the flavor of the dish. A little goes a long way.
"Shuri Soba "has a reputation for delicious menu items other than Okinawa soba. In particular, the simmered dish with tripe, daikon radish, green beans, and island tofu is hearty and comfortingly seasoned. The slightly sweet broth soaks into the ingredients and makes you want to drink beer.
Also popular is a takikomi-gohan called "Jyushii ". It is Okinawan-style takikomi gohan with pork, kelp and carrots. It is inexpensive at 200 yen, so many people order it as a set with Okinawa soba.
How about "Hyozenzai "for dessert? The rich kintoki-mame (red kidney beans) zenzai is hidden under the ice that almost overflows the bowl, and you eat it while breaking up the pile of ice. The zenzai is just the right amount of sweetness, and the white bean curd is also very tasty. It is so good that you will want to eat it not only in summer but also in winter.

king taco
Taco rice is now a fixture in cafes and restaurants throughout Japan. " King Taco "in Kanatake-cho, Okinawa Prefecture, is known as the birthplace of taco rice. It was established in 1984 in Kanatake-cho, near the base, and now has several affiliated restaurants on the main island of Okinawa.
With its cute pink exterior, the restaurant is so popular that on holidays there is a long line of customers inside and outside the restaurant. It seems that the restaurant was originally started to provide cheap and filling food to the U.S. military at the base, and sold tacos with the ingredients on rice. Because of this legacy, the main restaurant also accepts payment in U.S. dollars.
The basic "King Taco "taco rice is a simple, wild taco rice dish with only taco meat cooked in a secret seasoning and topped with a big bowl of rice. The price is a nice low 400 yen, but one thing to note is that the taco rice at "King Taco "is not the taco rice topped with cheese and lettuce that many people imagine. "Taco Rice Vegetable (500 yen) "is rice topped with meat, lettuce and tomatoes, and "Taco Rice Cheese Vegetable (600 yen) "is a typical taco rice with meat, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on top of rice.

boastful person
Located in an alley off Okiei Street in Makishi, Naha City, this Okinawan izakaya is a warm and inviting restaurant in a renovated 50-year-old private house. The quaint atmosphere is perfect for creating memories of your trip to Okinawa. It is also available for dates and business entertainment.
"At Jimanya ", you can enjoy their signature dishes and awamori. Especially recommended are "Pineapple Pork Steak "and "Pineapple Pork Shabu Shabu ", which are made from pork raised on pineapple. "Pineapple pork "is very juicy, soft and sweet due to the pineapple effect. "Pineapple pork shabu shabu "is made by simmering pork bones for 9 hours and is full of collagen. Yet it is very tasty with almost no acridity and a rich flavor without any cloying taste.
Mozuku, an Okinawan specialty, is also recommended. "Jimanya "is particular about how to eat mozuku and offers a new way to eat it: "Tsukemozuku ". Instead of vinegar or tempura, mozuku is served with Yanbaru chicken nanban sauce.
We have a wide variety of a la carte dishes such as "Chanpuru "and "Shimadofu ""Umibudo ", which are staples of Okinawan cuisine that you must try when you come to Okinawa. This izakaya is a place where you can enjoy vegetables, meat, and other ingredients grown in Okinawa.
"Jimanya "has a staff of "Awamori Meister "certified by the Awamori Meister Association, so you can have your favorite Awamori or Awamori that you can only drink here. Even if you have never had awamori before, they will prepare awamori to your liking so you can give it a try.

Jackie Steakhouse
"Jackie Steak House "is a steakhouse that has been loved by locals as well as tourists since it opened in 1953, shortly after the war. Located about a 6-minute walk from the Okinawa Urban Monorail "Yui Rail "Asahibashi Station, the restaurant is marked by its red and yellow American exterior. The at-home customer service and the restaurant's interior designed to make the waiting time enjoyable are exciting.
"Jackie Steakhouse "is very particular about its meat. The meat is unloaded from the butcher and is carefully inspected by our eyes, and only meat that meets the chef's passing standards is served. About 30% of the meat that comes in is not used, and sometimes a decision is made not to use it. (The meat that is rejected is given to trainees visiting from abroad as a volunteer contribution to the community.)
The most popular menu item is the fillet "tenderloin steak ". You can choose rare, medium, or well-done, and it is served with condiments such as salt, pepper, soy sauce, and NO1 steak sauce on the table.
Sizes are available in L (3,100 yen), M (2,800 yen), and S (2,400 yen) and come with a salad, soup, and bread. You can enjoy a great steak at a reasonable price.
In addition to steak, the restaurant offers a variety of other dishes such as tacos, taco rice, and fried potatoes. You can also drink Orion beer, which is unique to Okinawa.
By flash-freezing vacuum-packed meat at minus 35 degrees Celsius, fresh and delicious meat can be ordered from anywhere in Japan. The meat cells are not destroyed and the quality remains the same as in its raw state after thawing, making it perfect for gifts and small treats. The most popular ordering set is the "Joe Steak Set ", which includes filet and cube rolls and is priced at 6,000 yen.
