"""Moerenuma Park "was originally designed in 1973 by Isamu Noguchi, who was very interested in the project "and wanted to use art to reclaim land damaged by human waste ". Isamu Noguchi was very interested in the park's development and decided to participate in its design. Isamu Noguchi died before the park was completed, and this "Moerenuma Park "is his last work.
In the center of the park, there is an artificial mountain "Moereyama ", built by piling up unburnable garbage and construction debris, from the top of which you can enjoy the view of Sapporo. The summit is surprisingly steep and takes less than 10 minutes to climb, so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes such as sneakers.
Another iconic feature of Moerenuma Park is the "Pyramid of Glass ". "The pyramid "is the name of the facility, but it is not triangular pyramid-shaped, but a complex combination of a triangular face, a square pyramid, and a cube, each side measuring 51.2 meters.

Hokkaido Shrine

"Hokkaido Jingu "began in 1869 (Meiji 2), when the Hokkaido Kaitakushi (Hokkaido Development Commissioner) was dispatched to Hokkaido and the "Hokkaido Zashinsai Shrine "was held in Tokyo by order of the Emperor Meiji. Later, the relics of the gods were moved from Tokyo to Sapporo via Hakodate, and in 1871 the shrine was built at its current location.
"The charm of the Hokkaido Shrine "is that visitors can stroll around and enjoy the natural beauty of the four seasons. In early May, the cherry blossom season in Hokkaido, someiyoshino and ezo-yamazakura cherry trees are in full bloom. In autumn, visitors can also enjoy the changing of the leaves. You can also see wild Ezo squirrels moving quickly between the trees and climbing up the trees quite often throughout the year.
"When you visit the Hokkaido Shrine ", you should definitely try the "HANKANSAMA "sold at the "Jingu Jaya "run by Rokkatei. "Hangansama "is a baked rice cake with buckwheat flour that is wrapped in a sweet bean paste, and the rice cake extends all the way through! The texture is more like cheese than firmness, which is surprising. The aroma of freshly baked mochi is also very special.
