Iwasaki Restaurant

When it comes to Ota yakisoba, this restaurant cannot be missed.
Whenever Ota Yakisoba is featured on TV, it is almost always a very famous restaurant.
The restaurant has been selling yakisoba long before Ota yakisoba became a specialty, and it is a "familiar taste" to the locals.
It is one of the most visited restaurants not only by Ota residents but also by tourists.

The most distinctive feature of this yakisoba is the sauce.
As you can see, the "pitch-black" color is quite astonishing.
"Many people may have the impression that it looks very dense ...... ", but it is not.
Surprisingly, it tastes just right, not too salty or too salty.
The only ingredient is cabbage.
Its sweetness and texture are a nice accent.

The size range is very extensive, with small, medium (this is for one person), and large, as well as extra-large to triple (roughly 4 servings), with the option to increase the amount to your liking.
Incidentally, there is also a super-large menu called "above no particular name or no particular name," so those who are proud of their stomach bukuro may want to give it a try.
You may have heard that Ota yakisoba is defined by its "black sauce," but this is a misunderstanding.
The sauce at this most famous restaurant in Ota was completely black, thus establishing the image of the restaurant.

Shimizuya Honten

This store has been operating in Ota City for a long time.
The exterior of the building also has a nostalgic atmosphere, retaining the air of the Showa to early Heisei period.
It is so deeply rooted in the local community that some locals have been going there for three or more generations of their families.
In addition to the famous yakisoba noodles, the chubby "taiyaki" and "shumai" are also popular.
Avoid visiting just before closing time, as the restaurant closes when the food is sold out.

There are no strict rules on how to make yakisoba in Ota City, which is not a ten-color "ten-men ten-color ", but a ten-color yakisoba, with no strict rules on how to make it or the ingredients.
However, in Ota City, where dishes that are "filling" are often preferred, many restaurants use thicker noodles.
Among them, Shimizuya's yakisoba noodles are thin.
It is also rather close to ultra-fine, a type that is quite rare in the city.
The only ingredient is cabbage, as in Iwasaki-ya.

If you want meat, you can have it added for 50 yen more.
It is stir-fried in lard and then seasoned with Japanese soup stock and sauce, making it a simple yet flavorful dish.

There are also magazines and comics in the restaurant, and people can be seen reading them while waiting for their food.
It has previously been featured on television and is a popular restaurant that attracts many visitors from both inside and outside of the prefecture.
The restaurant is also known for its tasty motsu-ni and karaage (fried chicken), so why not try them together?
Original yakisoba sauces and other items are available for sale near the cash register.
Please note that the restaurant is open only from 11:00 to 14:00 (last order 13:30).

Yamaguchiya offers four types of yakisoba.
They do not differ in terms of the seasoning of the sauce, etc., but are distinguished by the type of ingredients.
"yakisoba with cabbage only ", "meat yakisoba with pork ", "jaga yakisoba with potatoes ", and "mixed yakisoba with all ingredients ".
Among these, I would like to recommend the Jaga Yakisoba.
The large potatoes are riddled with sweet and spicy sauce that goes perfectly with the dish.
I think it is a rare combination of potatoes in yakisoba ingredients in Japan, so please try it.
The yakisoba is actually a specialty of the neighboring city of Ashikaga in Tochigi Prefecture.
It was then introduced to the neighboring city of Ota, where it was mixed with the food culture of each city and served in restaurants.
So it is a collaboration of Ashikaga City and Ota City's specialties.

In addition to yakisoba, there are also rice dishes, karaage (fried chicken), stewed motsu, and a few sweet treats.

It is filled with plenty of shredded cabbage and ground meat, and is topped with sweet carrots.
The rich sauce is well mixed with the noodles and ingredients, creating a perfect balance of flavors.

Saimeya's yakisoba is a strong-flavored, cart-style dish.
Noodles cooked on a hot griddle have a chewy texture.
There are four sizes: small, medium, large, and extra-large.
The only garnish is cabbage, but it can be ordered with meat for an additional charge.
The yakisoba is quite large for a small portion, but if you still feel like you could eat more, we recommend ordering the yakitori together.
There are chicken meat, negima (chicken meat and green onion), tori- (chicken meat and skin), torikawa (chicken skin), motsu (pork cutlet), liver, and tsukune (chicken meat), and all types are priced at a flat rate.

The building is a prefabricated structure and looks cozy.

Ai Ie Wa's yakisoba has a distinctive sauce.
They mix five different spices at the restaurant during cooking.
This creates a unique aroma and a taste that is hard to get tired of.
